Refined Designs Co. strives to make their websites accessible to everyone. Below are the strategies we use in order to make this possible.

Access keys

In order to access all of the pages on this website for those who do not have access to a computer mouse/pointer accessory, access keys are the alternative.

In order to use access keys, for windows users, you need to press [Alt] + accesskey. However, if you are using Firefox, then you have to press [Alt] + [Shift] + accesskey. If you are a Mac user, then for all browsers, the key combination is [Control] + [Alt] + accesskey.

Alt tags

For browsers that cannot display images, alt tags are used in order to inform the reader on what the image contains.

They are also used in website links as well, also known as anchor links. The alt tags will appear when the user hovers over the link, and it will allow them to see where the link takes them before actually clicking it.

Selecting

Some text colours may not be so visible on some users computer monitors. Therefore, when you select a word or an image on this website, it changes the background and the text colour to a strong contrast of black and red, like so...

JavaScript and CSS

For dated internet browsers, this website is still accessible and readable for those that do not have JavaScript or CSS enabled. However the Internet Explorer Hunter game will not be available for those who do not have JavaScript enabled.

Also, The HTML5 Shiv enables use of HTML5 sectioning elements in legacy Internet Explorer and provides basic HTML5 styling for Internet Explorer 6-9, Safari 4.x (and iPhone 3.x), and Firefox 3.x. So basically, the website looks half decent in awful IE6.

Apple Devices Icon

For ease of use, iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch users can have an icon on their device that automatically links to the website so that the user doesn't have to go their browser and type in the address every time.

This can be achieved by going to the website and press 'Add to' and then 'Add to Home Screen'.

"Special grey" PS4 revealed for PlayStation's 20th anniversary

NEWS | 08 DECEMBER 2014 | by JAMES MILTON

Today is the PlayStation's twentieth birthday. Officially an adult in its native Japan, it can legally smoke and drink, if it had the necessary biological parts to poison. It doesn't, but 20 years in the market is an impressive milestone for any console family. To celebrate, the company is releasing a collector's model of the PS4, dressed in the fetching garb of the original PlayStation.

The PlayStation 4 20th Anniversary Edition is a very special model. This limited edition PS4 offers a great sense of nostalgia to long-time PlayStation fans, while also providing a fresh experience to those who never picked up the original console

Andrew House, president and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, said via statement.

The 'PlayStation®4 20th Anniversary Edition' embodies our appreciation and gratitude to all our fans, publishers, and business partners that have provided us with tremendous support for the past 20 years, and we look forward to their support as we continue to imagine and build the future of PlayStation together for years to come. We remain steadfast in our commitment to deliver the best gaming experiences and to offer the best place to play for gamers around the world.

There have been mixed reviews about the new release of the Limited Edition PS4, with complaints stating that a simply change in colour is not worthy of a such an increase in price.

The Anniversary Edition PS4 will retail in the UK for £399. Expect more announcements from Sony as the PlayStation anniversary celebrations continue.
